More than 10,000 Ambulance staff of Ziqitza Healthcare Ltd. (ZHL), Asia’s largest private emergency medical service provider acting as frontline warriors and saving lives of people amidst the deadly second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 108 ambulances have been working dedicatedly to help patients across the states of Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Sikkim in reaching the hospital on time and also ensuring safe transfer of the patients back home post-recovery. The quality care by the 108 Ambulance team is offered free of cost to the people of the states.
In every state, the ambulances are divided into two categories; some ambulances have been especially allotted for COVID-19 patients in the state. Remaining ambulances are being used for other medical emergencies such as road accidents, carrying pregnant women, other medical emergency cases, etc.
Ambulance staff is being provided with essential equipment like face masks, hand gloves, PPE kits, sanitizers in sufficient quantity and the ambulance is being sanitized thoroughly after every patient is served. All rules and guidelines are also being followed by the staff to stop the spread of infection
Ziqitza Healthcare has successfully served over 6 Lakhs patients across the states during the Covid surge. Working in partnership with the state government and supporting relentlessly in handling this critical situation. Ziqitza operates a fleet of over 3300 ambulances which includes Basic Life Support Ambulances and Advanced Life Support Ambulances. The 108 emergency service number with GPS-enabled ambulances and is professionally managed 24×7 through a centralized call center. Ziqitza Rajasthan says all patients were served relentlessly with strong support from the 24×7 centralized 108 call-center through the Covid-19 surge, during which the team received about 27,000 emergency calls. A dedicated staff of over 1,500 professionals ensured that each case is managed well to reduce the turnaround time in all aspects, making the system more robust and efficient, catering to the urgent need for ambulance service to save precious lives during the deadly pandemic. The frontline healthcare workers are the Ambulance Crew, who are the first to respond to Covid-19 patients, stabilizing the latter on board or during transfers to designated isolation wards. Ziqitza Limited ambulance crew members and helpline staff worked round the clock to transfer these patients with utmost care.
Working along with 108 Ambulance the 104 helpline operated by ZHL, is instrumental in directing the calls for the transfer of COVID-19 suspected/confirmed patients to the helpline (108) in many states. Since it’s a declaration as the national helpline on COVID, the MP and Odisha centres have witnessed a surge in the sudden inflow of calls from 2000 to approximately 22,000 calls per day. The helpline has received calls enquiring about COVID symptoms, treatments, and all necessary precautions. Tele Medical Helpline has been forefront addressing these queries and ensuring panic is not spread and timely medical advice is provided.
