Ajit Mahadevan, India Director Acumen, holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Sciences from PSG College of Technology, India and has done Masters of Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University (Tepper School of Business). He’s worked with Ernst & Young, Piramal Health Care, Accenture. During his tenure at Accenture’s Strategic Services practice in UK and India, he led the development of one of the firm’s largest and most successful internal projects – the Offshore Development Centre in 2001, which has now grown to about 100,000 people across multiple cities in India.
Bijou Kurien was President & CE at Reliance Retail and as part of the start-up team, helped build a retail juggernaut with interests in food, fashion & accessories, electronics and enviable partnerships with leading international retail companies in the premium and luxury segments of the market. Prior to that, as COO of Titan Company Ltd., he was leading one of India’s most admirable consumer companies with leadership brands in watches, jewellery and eye wear. As a retail and consumer industry veteran, Bijou is also on the boards of several listed and unlisted companies in India. He is a key member and mentor of various national and international Industry associations. In his current role, he advises two leading consumer focused PE Funds and is their nominee director on the boards of some of their portfolio companies. He is a Science graduate from St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore and a Post graduate in management from Xavier Institute of Management, Jamshedpur.
Edward “Ted” Van Horne is president and CEO of American Medical Response (AMR). He is known throughout the industry for his innovative approach to EMS system design and focus on clinical excellence. In prior years, he served as CEO of AMR’s South Region where he directed operations from Florida to Arizona, as AMR's Vice President of Business Development for the West Region, and as the Director of Operations for AMR in San Bernardino County, CA. His leadership earned wide respect during the California wildfires for his division's handling of emergency medical communications and operational components during the largest evacuation in the state's history. He holds a bachelor of science in Health Systems Administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology and earned his MBA in 2001.
Naresh Jain is co-founder and Managing Director at Ziqitza Health Care. He is also a trustee and co-founder of Life Supporters Institute of Health Sciences (LIHS). He holds an MBA in finance from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Jodhpur in Rajasthan. He has varied experience in establishing start-ups within the manufacturing and services sector. In addition, he has worked extensively in treasury and corporate finance.
In 1997, Prahlad Kakar founded Genesis Film Production, one of the India's oldest and foremost advertising production houses, that has been instrumental in changing the face of Indian advertising. Before entering the world of advertising, he worked as assistant to renown flimmaker Shyam Bengal. His work includes ad films for leading brands, including PepsiCo P & G. Nestle and MasterCard. He holds and economics degree from Fergusson College, Pune.
Ravi Krishna is Co-founder and Director of the non-profit Ambulance Access for All. He also sits on the Board of Directors for Ziqitza Education Limited. Mr. Krishna holds a LLM from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a LLB from Mahatma Gandhi University Kerala. Prior to founding Ziqitza Health Care, he served as Director of Corporate Affairs at Empee Group and was an associate lawyer at M.R. Singh and Associates in Kochi, Kerala.
Sachindra Rudra, Chief Investment Officer, New York USA of Acumen holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from St Stephen’s College in Delhi, a Masters Degree in Economics from Cambridge University and M.Sc from the London School of Economics. He has done MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Prior to taking on his current role of Chief Investment Officer, he was Country Director and CEO of Acumen’s operations in India where he was responsible for the full gamut of Acumen’s activities, and represented Acumen on the boards of Orb Energy, Lifespring Hospitals and PVRI.
Shaffi Mather is a Serial Entrepreneur, Lawyer & Public Policy Analyst. He is the founder and original promoter of Ziqitza Health Care Limited. He set out with the goal of rolling out a nationwide network of Life Support Ambulance Service in India accessible to anyone, any time and anywhere through an easy to remember four digit telephone number and with the vision of building the largest emergency ambulance service company in the developing world. He is an alumnus of Harvard, LSE, University of Pittsburgh, University of Bridgeport, Cochin University of Science and Technology and Mahatma Gandhi University. He is presently an Advisor at Stanford Change Labs and an Associate at Harvard Asia Centre.
Sweta Mangal is co-founder and Director of Ziqitza Health Care. Ms. Mangal holds an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology and is a Gurukul Chevening Scholar at the London School of Economics. She is a trustee and co-founder of LifeSupporters Institute of Health Sciences (LIHS), official training arm of Ziqitza Health Care. Keeping alive the dream of quality education for the children of her small town, she founded the CBSE-accredited Mangal Newton School in Beawar, Rajasthan.
